This is a mom and pop style restaurant with a little flare. At any given time you can find most of your local community in here which is great! Good food. Nice family atmosphere.

Great locally owned and operated restaurant. I stopped in with my family while visiting from Alaska and had the best hush puppies I've had in years. The crab cake dinner was perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the calamari had just the right amount of spice and was fabulously tender. Many restaurants tend to overcook calamari, but not here. The food came quickly, and the staff was very friendly. We were too busy eating to take any pictures of our food. Highly recommend if you're in the area.

We all were very pleased with our visit to Mayo's. After spending 3 days in New Bern we were looking for a new experience. And we're so glad we did. This was my third time tasting Shrimp and Grits, and I must say that this one was possibly the best. Paired it with the fried okra.....yumm And don't ask how the hush puppies are. Fantastic! The salmon, blackened shrimp and bisque also got good marks. Well done Mayo's!

I've always loved going to Mayo's, over the years. When you want fresh caught seafood that is cooked perfectly, this is your place in Pamlico County. I've had different entrees from here, but my go-to is always the 2 seafood combo plate, Flounder and Shrimp. You taste the freshness with each bite you take!
